Come Travel with Me!
"To travel is to take a journey into yourself" - Danny Kaye
As I've mentioned before, traveling is one of my biggest passions. There is something in diving into the unknown, learning about a variety of cultures, languages, and people, that makes you realize that you are something bigger than yourself. Opening yourself up to the areas uncharted allows you to grow exponentially. Traveling is a way to find out who you are.
I caught the travel bug when I was little, through a variety of family vacations across the United States and Canada. I had to pause my travels during high school, as work loads increased dramatically, as well as involvement in extracurricular activities. After I graduated high school in the summer of 2012, I spent 10 days in Europe (Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, and Italy) with classmates, and my heart was set on traveling again. I also went to California by myself later that summer in order to see family for two and a half weeks. There is something freeing in leaving things behind and hoping for a new start.
My passions continued to develop as I picked up a Travel and Tourism minor, learning more about cultures and places and the effects tourism has on a local environment. I yearned to keep on traveling and I was soon blessed with the opportunity to intern with Common Purpose in Ireland in the summer of 2015. I am beyond excited to continue to follow my dreams, while further developing my event management skills as a Programme Intern. If you would like to hear more about my time in Ireland, I have a blog that I will be updating frequently with stories, experiences, and pictures!
If you want to see more of my experiences, feel free to browse through the slideshow of images below.
